Wish I knew.
I hoped they would send it to me before they closed the charity: water offices for the week-end. (I did ask politely. They are insanely busy. I understand).
I haven’t heard.
We might have to wait until Monday.
Sorry.
I can guarantee this:
It was good day.
Did you hear sweet mothers talking about the plight of mothers across the ocean they have never met?
Did you see the water statistics that were posted as though they were front page news?
Did your heart soften and your grip loosen just a little?
Did you take notice of the water that flowed freely from your faucets?
I did.
And I don’t think I was alone.
It was a good day.

Whew! Just got home and bought some water. I so wish it could be much more but at least it is something. I sent lots of emails and I’m hoping and praying that all the somethings add up to lots of water. I was thinking that I wish I knew someone rich or famous who could donate huge sums of money. Then it was as if God reminded me that he can just as well work through ordinary people who rely on him to meet the need through them…through us…little by little…as we sacrifice and make changes in our spending, especially in tough economic times, as we loosen our grip and find out that there is great joy and blessing in participating in something that is way bigger than ourselves.
Giving…it’s what is on God’s heart
Giving to the least of these?
It doesn’t get any better than that.
wish you knew, too!
but it was most definitely a good day for water.
love you.
night…
Along with contributing to this water gift yesterday, I was also able to watch the movie Pray The Devil Back to Hell. If you have not seen it, you NEED to! It’s about the Women’s Peace Movement in Liberia and the changes it brought about. Really powerful.
Such a beautiful place, such beautiful people, such disturbing images….but there’s Hope.
