True story.
I did fail.
But there was grace all around.
And we made it.
We are all moved.
Old house is all clean.
Things are generally put away in the new house.
Enough at least that we could all get ready for school this morning.
Everyone is happy and thankful.
Still a bit sick.
But good.
I am starting to come out of the fog and get excited about the routine and the fresh start of a new year.
My parents come for a short visit tomorrow.
We will treat them to about 300 basketball games.
Hait in a couple weeks.
Spelling tests and practices and a new and much shorter commute.
And as we collapsed into bed on New Years Eve, Andy and I talked about our 2013 goals. What do we want 2013 to look like?
All we could come up with was, “Let’s try not to move in 2013.”
So that’s our plan.
We’ll start there for now.
And hopefully progress into much nobler aspirations.
But for now….we are just plain thankful that it all worked out the way it did in the end.
And for the many, many people who are our “pit crew” and move in and out of lives bringing so much life.
Happy New Year, guys.

I hear ya on not moving in 2013, except I already know we’ll be moving in June! Hopefully, 2014 will be the first year since 2008 of no moving and no big international trips for us.
