Andy goes in for a “new” kidney stone surgery tomorrow morning.
We’ve had A LOT of kidney stones around here.
(And by “we” I mean “Andy”.)
We’ve had kidney stone surgeries a number of times as well.
But this is a different one.
He has huge stones right now. In both kidneys. Too big to blast with the laser.
So they are going to cut him open, go into the kidney through the back, blast them and vacuum them out.
That sounds fun, right?
Then we will go back in a couple weeks and get the other side done.
We have a lot to look forward to.

Anyway…it takes an army.
A friend is rising before dawn to come get him and take him into the hospital in Seattle.
I will send constant video texts to his hospital bed of the first baseball games.
Anyway, perhaps he’ll get some actual sleep there?

Andy is a trooper.
I love him.
We’ve had to make several difficult and unrelated decisions in the past couple weeks.
I’ve been amazed at his maturity and strength.
Let’s just say, he’s way better than me.

Jody, Brian had that very surgery on his left kidney in April. He got along great. He now also has another large stone in his right kidney that MAY have to have the same operation. Sounds like Brian and Andy could share war stories. Tell Andy we are praying for a great outcome.
Blessings to you all
