I picked up Cassie from the airport in the middle of the night on Tuesday.

We had 48 hours together. It was the only time we could coordinate schedules all summer.

It’s been a year since I saw her last.

And we were gong to make sure and make every second count.

As it always does with a really good friend.

We hiked “the Spit”–which is what you call it apparently when you are super NW and cool.

So we are going with that.

It was a nice combination of trees, mountains, and the ocean.

Oh…AND… you can SEE Canada as you walk.

Confirming the long standing idea that I live in a different country up here…
