We are enjoying our late night conversations at the lake.
Did a little couple’s photo shoot…

Joanna’s husband is gone…so Andy filled in.

Andy apparently enjoyed it so much that he jumped in with everyone’s shot….

The only problem with our late night conversations is that the kids still get up early. And roaring to go.
So needless to say, family reunions are exhausting. And super fun.
We are, regardless, thankful for this family. They are our friends. And we feel blessed.

Another grand family day.

We sent the Dads with all the kids across the lake in the boats to our cabins…

This captain, who proudly chose the Swan, was very proud of his safe arrival…

And yah…they’re cute. Cousins.

My sister’s husband, Nate, MADE a guitar for Andy using the old wood from our parent’s cabin in Colorado.
Um. Yah.
So cool.
I do feel like these musician boys feel like they need to stick together in the sea of Lorenzens.
But regardless, it was a really special way to start the time together.

“Life is hard enough. Don’t be a jerk.” (Nouwen)
I love that. Is that not so true?
Kindness has become of premium value. Over almost anything else, I am drawn and respect most deeply people who simply are kind.
——–
Crazy week.
TAP is preparing to launch next week.
It’s going to be so good. It’s not easy. That’s all.
———
The Lorenzens are starting to arrive in WA for a family reunion…2 by 2 by 3 by 4 (by 8…we throw everything off everywhere we go).
Soon we will all be together….playing on our computers and mobile devices.
It shall be grand.

“This God whom we serve will not quit, will not rest, will not relent until sin has finally been defeated and we are living in peace, righteousness, and justice forever. The ultimate completion of this must await the Lord’s return, but in the meantime there is real work being done and real progress being made, as every life and every situation in creation is moving in the directions of Christ’s final victory. God is committed to producing in every one of his children on earth greater peace, greater love, greater justice, greater deliverance from temptation, and greater freedom from sin. I’ll say it again: he will not rest until every microbe of sin has been eradicated from every cell of the hearts of every one of his children. Revelation 21:5 captures God’s zeal with these words, “Behold, I am making all things new.”
God cannot and will not be satisfied with his works of redemption as long as the physical world suffers the effects of sin. God will not rest as long as government is corrupt and unjust. He will not rest while families are still shattered and people made in his image are broken by sin. He will not rest as long as poverty and disease exist. He will not rest as long as falsehood competes with truth for the hearts of people. He will not rest as long as there is an enemy who seduces people with plausible lies. He will not rest until everything is exactly as it was meant to be when he set his powerful hands to create it. God never stops working in opposition to sin and the effects of the Fall, and his working is always effective.
If God is dissatisfied, then I should be as well…”

“Take heart….even at the the unlikeliest moments. Fear not. Be alive. Be merciful. Be human. And most unlikely of all: Even when you can’t believe, even if you don’t believe at all, even if you shy away from the sound of his name, be Christ.”
